Dough
- 2.5 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1 cup lukewarm water (approximately 1/3 hot, 2/3 room temperature)
- 30 grams granulated sugar
- 280 grams cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
- 70 grams cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Filling
- 1 lb (about 450g) pork mince (ground pork)
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion or 2-3 shallots, finely diced
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 50 grams ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons Char Siu Sauce
- 1 teaspoon five spice
- For Thickening & Finishing:
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
- 1-2 green onions, finely chopped (optional, for freshness)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional, for aroma)
